  • Q:How is Income’s Drive Master different from those offered by other insurers?

    A:

    Drive Master uses telematics innovation through a smartphone application to track driving behaviours. Those who meet the score of 70 and above will enjoy a premium discount. There will not be any discount for those who score below 70, nor will there be any penalty.

  • Q:I am an existing car insurance policyholder with Income, how do I participate in Drive Master?

    A:

    You can:

    • register at <www.income.com.sg/DriveMaster>
    • download and install Drive Master via App Store or Google Play
    • register and sign in through Drive Master application

    To qualify for the discount at your next insurance renewal, we will need to track your driving behaviours for six consecutive months, with a minimum mileage of 5,000 km. This means that you will need at least a validity of eight months in your existing motor policy with Income to qualify for the tracking. This is to ensure that the six-month tracking is completed before you receive the notice for renewal which is typically sent to you two months prior to your policy’s due date.

  • Q:I am not an existing motor policyholder with Income. How can I sign up for Drive Master?

    A:

    You can:

    • register at <www.income.com.sg/Drive-Master.>;
    • download and install the Drive Master mobile application via App Store or Google Play;
    • register and sign in through the mobile application.

    Upon registration, you may try out Drive Master for six consecutive months with a minimum mileage of 5,000 km from your first sign in. The Drive Master discount will be applied to your premium immediately, if you are eligible, should you decide to insure your private car with Income after the six-month trial.

  • Q:What is Drive Master?

    A:

    Drive Master is a private car insurance scheme that rewards drivers for good driving behaviors. It uses a smart-phone application that automatically tracks the driving behaviours of private car owners whenever they start their trips. Users are given a score based on these criteria - speed, manoeuvres, drive time and mileage. They will enjoy a premium discount based on the scores attained below:

  • Q:Why is Income launching Drive Master?

    A:

    Income is constantly looking to steer and focus business innovations to improve the accessibility and delivery of insurance to customers to enhance their experience with insurance.

    Drive Master is one such innovation which rewards good driving behaviours by leveraging technology to measure and manage risks. It redefines motor insurance in Singapore through better customised design and pricing for customers.

    This means that private car owners can now influence the motor insurance premiums they pay according to how they drive. We believe this will enhance road safety at the same time.

  • Q:I am an off-peak car owner, can I apply for Drive Master?

    A:

    Yes, you are welcome to use the Drive Master application to track your driving behaviour. However, if you are Income’s existing off-peak car insurance policyholder, you already enjoy more discount than what Drive Master offers.

  • Q:Who is eligible?

    A:

    Drive Master is available to all private car owners who are willing to share the data of their driving behaviours via the Drive Master application for six consecutive months. Drivers must also clock a minimum mileage of 5,000 km to participate in the scheme. Income will award a premium discount to drivers who score 70 and above on the Drive Master application and have insured their private cars with Income.

  • Q:I own more than one car, can I apply the Drive Master for all my cars?

    A:

    We can only register one policyholder and smartphone to one vehicle.

  • Q:Is there any penalty if my score registered is below 70 after a period of six months?

    A:

    No, there is no penalty imposed. However, you will not be eligible for the premium discount upon policy renewal or if you choose to insure your private car with Income.

  • Q:What happens if I do not have a smartphone to download the Drive Master application?

    A:

    Drive Master awards motor insurance premium discount based good driving behaviours. Drive Master tracks your driving behaviours using a smartphone application. Hence, it is necessary that you have a smartphone so that we can track your driving behaviours to ascertain your eligibility for the discount.

  • Q:Are the usual 5% Loyalty Discount and No-claim Discount (NCD) still applicable under Drive Master?

    A:

    Yes, both discounts are still applicable. The Drive Master discount is on top of the current discounts that you are enjoying.

  • Q:Do I have to pay for the Drive Master application or any fee?

    A:

    The application is currently provided to all drivers free of charge.

  • Q:What is the function of Drive Master application?

    A:

    The Drive Master is a smartphone application tracks your driving behaviours based on factors such as speed, manoeuvres, drive time and mileage.

  • Q:How do I know that Drive Master application is tracking my driving behaviour?

    A:

    You can view assessment of your driving behaviours and score via the Drive Master application. The score is updated after each drive.

  • Q:What happens to the Drive Master application when I change my smartphone?

    A:

    You can re-download and install the Drive Master application from the App store or Google play store on your new smartphone. You may then log in with your previously registered email address and password. Your current Drive Master data will appear on your new smartphone.

  • Q:If the Drive Master application was accidentally uninstalled from my smartphone for a period of time, will you still be able to register my score and give me the premium discount accordingly?

    A:

    We will need to track that you have driven a minimum mileage of 5,000 km along with your driving behaviours for a period of six consecutive months. To qualify for the Drive Master discount, both criteria must be met, along with a score of 70 and above.
